Does Wade’s Care First have an office in Flagstaff?

No. Wade’s Care First is a telehealth practice. You join your visit by secure video from home, work or anywhere in Arizona, and Charles Wade, FNP-BC is licensed to treat you while you are in the state. Where will I go for blood work if I live in Flagstaff?

Sonora Quest Laboratories patient service center at 1430 E. Route 66, Suite 101, Flagstaff (6:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. Monday–Friday per the February 2026 directory). Labcorp lists Flagstaff among its Arizona locations. Hospital outpatient lab at Flagstaff Medical Center. We send the order electronically to a location that is convenient for you or in your insurance network. Results come back to us for review with you.

Which Flagstaff hospitals have an emergency department?

Flagstaff Medical Center, Northern Arizona Healthcare (ADHS Level I trauma center; the only Level I north of Phoenix), Verde Valley Medical Center, Cottonwood, Northern Arizona Healthcare (ADHS Level IV) and Tuba City Regional Health Care Corporation (ADHS Level III; tribally operated, serves Native American beneficiaries). For chest pain, trouble breathing, stroke symptoms, severe bleeding, a major injury or thoughts of harming yourself, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department rather than booking a video visit.

Are there community health centers in Flagstaff for in-person care?

North Country HealthCare (HRSA-funded; Flagstaff Clinic 2920 N. 4th St, West University Ave site, Flagstaff Pediatrics on S. Yale St; 23 sites across 14 northern Arizona communities) serves the area with in-person primary care on a sliding scale. Many patients pair that kind of local clinic with telehealth for follow-ups, medication management and specialist coordination.

Can I use Arizona Medicaid or other insurance for a telehealth visit from Flagstaff?

Arizona Medicaid plans are not on the participating list right now. Plans accepted in Arizona: BCBS / Anthem PPO, UnitedHealthcare PPO, UMR (PPO), Aetna PPO, Cigna PPO, Humana PPO, Ambetter PPO, TRICARE. Benefits are verified before your visit, and self-pay pricing is posted if your plan is not accepted.

Is Flagstaff a health professional shortage area?

Coconino County has HRSA primary care and mental health HPSAs including 3 FQHC/look-alike facility HPSAs; PCP FTE shortage 4.7, psychiatrist FTE shortage 2.0. The Navajo Nation & Hopi Tribe tribal HPSAs (primary care score 11, mental health score 16) cover much of the county. Arizona Center for Rural Health (Dec. 2024): Arizona has primary care physician shortages in all 15 counties, meets 35.4% of its primary care need and needs 493 more PCP FTEs; its mental health brief (2023) finds psychiatrist shortages in every county and just 8.54% of mental health need met. Telehealth can complement local clinicians by offering another way to access primary care, mental health and medication follow-up while you keep your local relationships.

Can orders be sent to a laboratory or imaging facility near me?

When clinically appropriate, we can send orders to a laboratory or imaging facility you choose. Confirm that the location performs the requested test, accepts the order and participates in your insurance network. Availability and travel distance vary by community.

Good to know

Services, screening recommendations, testing, treatment options, referrals and prescribing may vary with your age, medical history, symptoms, where you are physically located at the time of the visit, state and federal requirements, insurance requirements, and whether your condition can be safely managed by telehealth. Conditions and services listed here are examples. An appointment does not guarantee a particular diagnosis, a prescription, a controlled medication, hormone therapy, a lab order, an imaging study, a sleep study, a specialist referral, an accommodation letter or a particular treatment. Treatment decisions follow a clinical evaluation and the provider’s judgment.

Getting care in Flagstaff

A high-elevation university and tourism city in the ponderosa pines, the medical hub for a vast rural and tribal region of northern Arizona.

Flagstaff is the medical anchor for an enormous stretch of northern Arizona, and Flagstaff Medical Center is the only Level I trauma center north of Phoenix. That regional role means local primary care and behavioral health openings are limited, and Coconino County still carries federal shortage designations. A video visit with Wade’s Care First gives you primary care, mental health support, ADHD treatment, weight management and help with minor illnesses without driving in on an icy morning or waiting weeks for an opening.

North Country HealthCare, the area’s community health center, remains a good option if you need sliding-fee in-person care, and telehealth can complement rather than replace that. Anything that needs an exam, vaccine or procedure is referred locally.

Access in Coconino County

Coconino County needs an estimated 4.7 additional primary care physician FTEs and 2.0 psychiatrist FTEs under HRSA criteria, and Flagstaff Medical Center is the only Level I trauma center north of Phoenix, so patients from across northern Arizona and the Navajo and Hopi nations are transferred here. Flagstaff Pulliam Airport’s surveyed elevation is 7,014.7 feet, and downtown averages 108 inches of snow a year, which affects winter travel to appointments. Coconino residents made 33 heat-related ED visits in 2025 versus 2,272 in Maricopa, so heat is a smaller issue than cold, altitude and distance.

Who this helps most in Flagstaff

Telehealth helps Northern Arizona University students, hospitality and seasonal workers, people living outside city limits, and anyone who finds the drive into Flagstaff difficult in winter. It suits refills, anxiety and depression, ADHD, sleep problems, skin concerns and chronic disease follow-up. Two local points matter. If you are new to 7,000 feet and notice headaches, poor sleep or shortness of breath, mention it; altitude can unmask heart and lung problems that need in-person evaluation.

And if you have chest pain, stroke symptoms, a serious fall or injury on the trails or slopes, severe breathing trouble or a possible broken bone, call 911 or go to Flagstaff Medical Center’s emergency department instead of booking a video visit.

Local health considerations

  • Altitude: Flagstaff sits at roughly 7,000 feet (Pulliam Airport surveyed elevation 7,014.7 ft, FAA data via AirNav), which can worsen breathing, sleep and heart symptoms for visitors and new residents.
  • Winter weather: downtown Flagstaff averages 108 inches of snow annually (Discover Flagstaff), and the National Weather Service Flagstaff office issues winter and avalanche products for the region.
  • Regional referral role: Flagstaff Medical Center is one of Arizona’s state-designated Level I trauma centers and the only one north of Phoenix (ADHS; Northern Arizona Healthcare).
